Kohl Rabi and Potato Gratin

When we visited Mandy and Jon back in May we told them we were growing Kohl Rabi. I had never eaten it before or even heard of it until Steve was given some plants from Simon next door. Jon and Mandy have a weekly organic box of vegetables and recommended Kohl Rabi and Potato Gratin. I found it took too long to cook - but then I need to be more careful now that I have a new kitchen but the end results were worth it. Unfortunately Poppy would not agree with me.

Bank Holiday

We took advantage of my parents baby-sitting service (THANKS!!!) over the bank holiday weekend and went up to visit Jon and Mandy. I know it's taken a while to blog it but things have been very busy and I'm getting on a bit so it's taken some time to recover :-)

After a nice barbeque lunch they had us working in the garden - well me anyway - Karen seemed to get out of it somehow.



We had a great time round at Katie and Mark's Eurovision party on the Saturday night when we finally got to meet Tully. Lots of food and drink and Eurovision - who could ask for anything more! No photos unfortunately but Katie has her own Eurovision review here!

We also went to the gardens at Dunham Massey - there wasn't a drop of rain all weekend.
