Me and my girl

We were trying to read or rather sing some nursery rhymes but Poppy was more interested in turning the pages as quickly as she could and unfortunately I am still a little rusty on the words. Maybe she did not like my singing and who could blame her.

Jam Making

This long weekend, as well as painting, I thought I'd try my hand at jam making. So a walk this morning in the Wilverley Inclosure produced a saucepan full of blackberries.

Which in turn produced four jars of apple and blackberry jam from Hugh FW's Cook on the Wild side book.

Preserves

We've just bought Sarah Raven's Garden Cookbook which is full of ideas to help us use some of the garden veg including a courgette chutney recipe - pictured below (on the right) together with a couple of jars of spiced runner bean pickle that I made a few weeks back.

Night out

Steve and I had our first night out on our own. Well it was only a curry in New Milton but it was lovely. Steve stuffed himself silly and then felt much too full. I enjoyed eating a meal without having to stop every few minutes to attend to my daughter.
