The vegetable patch

Yesterday Steve took a photo of his vegetable patch and I thought it was worth sharing with you.

In the photo you can see potatoes, sugar snap peas, yellow courgettes, parships, spring onions, lettuce, french beans, carrotes, spinach, swiss chard and runner beans.

Paddling

Yesterday Nicola and Justin visited us. The boys wanted to watch footie in the afternoon but I am pleased to say that afterwards we went for a short walk by the sea. Nic and I had a paddle whilst the boys threw stones in the sea.

The Good Life

Just thought I'd post a picture of some of the home grown goodies that will go into our dinner tonight...

Swiss Chard (Bright Lights)
Perpetual Spinach
Early potatoes (Red Duke of York)
My first ever harvest of sugar snap peas

and a few strawberries for dessert!

Also here's a picture of gypsophilia grown from the seeds that we gave out as wedding favours for all those who didn't get around to sowing theirs (shame on you!!)

Lady of leisure!

Friday was my last day at work so I am now officially a lady of leisure. I have not been able to take things too easy yet as there are lots of jobs to be done but there is not doubt that I would much rather be doing that than travelling for 5 hours every day to work.

Hopefully we will be getting the baby's room plastered on Friday which will be progress. If time is one our side we will then (or rather Steve) be able to paint, put on new skirting boards and carpet before the baby arrives.
